Because my opinions are oh-so important. (And because I have nothing to do.)

Supernatural

Was it cheesy? Yes. Was it good? Yes. Was it necessary to have Sam die? Uh, I guess they want to switch the brother's roles again. All along Dean's mission as to save Sam, now Sam must find a way to save Dean. The writers over there seem to like role reversal a lot, sort of like a balance, I suppose. It was silly in a way that it was obvious Sam wasn't gonna stay dead. Really wasn't expecting Dean to pull a Crossroad Blues though. I always assumed the YED would resurrect our dear Sammy.

Was it necessary to kill off YED? That one I'm not sure. It's a good closure, but now who's the Big Bad? This show needs to have a goal; like for the first season, to find Dad. The second season ultimate mission was a little skewed, thus the patchy story-telling. So what's gonna happen next season? To find a way out for Dean's deal? To kill off the demons that escaped? What about Sam's destiny? Is that it? Opening the gates of Hell? That was the children's mission? That's all?

The first season was much more focused. I loved the season one finale, especially the explosive finale. I know Kripke wanted a nice closure, but for me, I always felt that a season finale isn't exciting enough without some form of huge question hanging in the air. Granted, the Winchesters still have a long way to go, but even my best friend mentioned that this finale could be a series finale. It just doesn't build up enough anticipation for the next season as compared to season one. But come on, of course I'll still be watching come this fall.

House

The only part I like about the episode is the Chase/Cameron parts. Chase is all kinds of awesome. He seems to have acquire House's keen sense of knowing, always blurting out what others really think. And oh my, Chase and Cameron, those two are adorable, with their Tuesdays and all. And I love that scene when Cameron hands in her resignation letter. But their scenes were sadly lacking. So are House/Wilson and House/Cuddy scenes.

And I don't like the direction of the episode, especially that stupid ending with House with his new guitar. Stupid symbolism. House, you need your ducklings, get them back. But then again, the writers seem to have dug a grave for themselves. Getting them all back on House's team would be nothing short of cheesy. Unless they can come up with something completely creative, the season premiere is gonna be really bad.

Heroes

So that's how you stop an exploding man. I guess part of me is kinda disappointed with the lack of explosive action. A harmless poof in the sky is kinda anti-climatic. But I suppose Tim Kring can't really let Peter blow. The showdown between Peter and Sylar was kinda weird too. And there was a lack of brotherly angst. The ending was kinda abrupt. Nathan just appeared out of nowhere and two seconds later, is flying away with Peter. And is that all that's left of the Heroes, those in that plaza? It felt strangely little, although I was expecting more casualties. And that little snippet of season 2 was stupidly redundant, didn't feel like a proper ending to the season, didn't exactly feel like a huge cliffhanger either. But I'm interested too see what season 2 would be about.

Veronica Mars

An awesome season finale. A ridiculous series finale. Veronica walking away in the rain after voting for Keith, with the results unknown, and LoVe hanging in the air, that way Logan beat up that guy and the look on Veronica's face. No way. Not a bloody finale. It was a really good season finale though, given the rollercoaster that had been season 3. Veronica being Veronica, the Kanes' and Casablancas' return, Dick's vulnerable side, his talk with Mac, Logan beating up guys, Veronica helping out Weevil, Keith's unconditional love for his daughter, even Piz/Veronica was kinda cute. For those two hours, I felt like I felt back in season 1; I want to be Veronica Mars.

Lost

I got a little spoiled for it, so the very first scene, I already guessed it was a flash-forward instead of a back. And James Lesure! It's weird seeing him there. I know of very little cases when actors with starring roles in one show go off to guest-star in another. I guess the early Las Vegas finale gave him some free time. Heh. Anyway, back to it, Matthew Fox shines in it. He was pitch-perfect, juggling between the drunk desolate doctor in the flashes and torn, overburdened leader on the island. I've been more of a Sawyer fan (He was also ridiculously awesome in that episode with Locke's father.) but Jack was really wonderful. And Juilet. I can't seem to make up my mind about her. First I hate her, then I like her, then I thought she was helping Ben, now she's helping Jack? Bah. So confusing. And also, Kate is one lucky girl, with both Jack's and Sawyer's affections. As for the plot, definitely getting interesting. So now we know they get off the island, but how? And why did Jack regret leaving? What happened to the Others then? Did they leave too? Season 3 was definitely better than season 2, although nothing could beat the refreshing taste of season 1.

Grey's Anatomy

Shonda Rhimes, if not for Justin Chambers, I won't be watching this show anymore. I'm not a huge fan of Jane Doe/Ava/Rebecca, but that is currently the only storyline I like about the show. That's saying something. I was put off by George/Izzie, but the transition and struggles felt smooth and realistic, so I'm okay with that now, although I pity Callie. She deserves better than what George could offer her. Addison is leaving, so that's that. I'm still sorely upset with Addison/Alex. Oh Alex and Callie, please go to LA to join Addison. And Burke/Cristina and Derek/Meredith, stupidest storyline ever.

Smallville

Awesome, as always, Smallville's finales never failed to entertain me. Out of all the finales, I think Smallville is the only one I have the least complaints about, only one; Lana is obviously not dead. Lionel didn't see her actually getting into the car. Argh. Can you kill her already?  Chloe is awesome, although, what exactly is her power? Bringing someone back from the dead but ending up dying herself? Not a very cool power. I wanted something much more awesome, something that could make her a superhero too, or at least like Clark's right hand woman.

Yes it was neccessary to kill YED.lol No neccessary to kill Sam.

I really liked the Heroes finale. I mean Sylar could have used more of his powers during the Peter and Sylar fight.

Yeah they made the 'season finale' thinking that's what it be. a season finale. Not a series finale. That's why it was the way it is.:/

To tell you the truth I'm not sure if their really getting off the island.lol

I agree. The Burke & Christina and Derek and Meredith is just ugh. Kind of stupid and everything.

Killing Sam was kinda silly, wasn't it? Bah.

I'm still sad about Veronica Mars. I really hope the Mars Bar campaign works. A mid-season order would be so awesome.

They're not? But they did, didn't they? You mean Jack was dreaming or something? Or it was entirely misleading?

Just heard that Burke is not returning. Hm.

Yeah. Killing Sam was silly. Agreed! lol

I am too. I'm sad about V Mars too. i heard about that. Maybe it could work! Perhaps!

Well I just feel like Lost wouldn't be LOST if they weren't on the island. So I feel...well what if they don't really leave the Island?

Well I'm glad Isiah isn't returning to Grey's.

I always love your layout. I love black. haha.

Also, TV ROUNDUP FTW! I enjoy reading commentary in bulk. ;D

Hee, thanks. Black is nice. =)

YAY. \o/

hahaha yes I realised the only person left to watch in Grey's is Justin Chambers because Kate Walsh has left. boo I didn't like season3, maybe I won't watch season4

Yeah, but I'll still probably watch it. Justin Chambers is enough. Though I heard Elizabeth Reaser will not be back. Wonder what Alex's storyline is gonna be like next season. Well, we'll see.

Idk season3 totally killed it for me. Especially with all the shippings, and plus, I really miss the times when it wasn't just about a single patient. Oh well, we'll see

wow. heroes had the vest finale i had ever seen. i didn't even see smallville's or supernatural but i read about them and was very disappointed by both. 's especially the fake Lana death. Chloe's death was a very big wtf moment.

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 01:49pm on 08/06/2007
Yeah, Heroes really was quite awesome. Smallville's finale wasn't too bad, except the Lana thing. It pales a little in comparison to previous seasons, but all in all, really not too bad. I do want some kinda of explanation for Chloe's powers. It's kinda dumb.

I like Lana. Though she kind of annoyed me this season. Chloe isn't dead either. Allison signed on for next season so she can't be dead.

Somehow I don't think Peter or Nathan died. Peter can regenerate and they can't kill Nathan. I like him. But there's some theories going around about how he survived and I like those.

I don't think either of the girls will stay dead. The fans will go crazy.

Neither will Peter or Nathan. Everyone will live. Yay! =)

Yeah I agree. There would be some very unhappy people if any of them died.

Since you are finally caught up you should check out my comments on our common shows. I think we are pretty much in synch on the closing of the TV season. I didn't bother commenting on Heroes, since I thought it was kinda dumb. Actually, I'm gonna miss Skylar. He was one of the few truly interesting characters to watch *shrug* I just started watching House about half way threw this season, but now that we are in summer break, I'm catching up with S1 & S2 on DVD. I never have watched Grey's, Smallville fills my soap opera quota for the week already.

Anyway - been missing ya, I'm still obsessing over Twilight and not much else. But dammit - it feels so good!

I love that we share a fandom brain.

Aw, Heroes wasn't that bad. And Sylar is still alive, isn't he? House is all kinds of awesome, even though this finale disappoints. I hope you enjoy it.

Been missing you too. And Twilight! Yay!

i'm wondering if supernatural's finale had something to do with the uncertainty of it's future at the time of recording. i don't know how shows handle that and i really wish they would reveal all the shows that are returning before the finales aired. i hate that. anyway, this season was not as good as last. but the boys are really too hot for me to care. as long as it's entertaining, i'm game.

house was so boring. i don't even remember this season. i really don't know how they are going to save that whole thing about house being alone. not sure if i care for chase and cameron. love wilson. and i think house's attitude is getting worse and really annoys me most of the time. so i'm just hoping for a better season next fall.

haven't seen heroes yet, but i'll watch it one of these days and rewatch lost while i'm at it, cause i was a bit drunk. never a good show to mux with booze. but wow, that whole in the future thing totally threw me! and did it mean that only kate and jack made it off? i kind of got that feeling. and charlie really died? omg, i cried. i've been saying the last few weeks that i'd quit watching if charlie died. but i don't think i can guarantee that. and this season was way better than last. but the first is still the best.

i really enjoyed vmars. mostly cause it was like old times. not the semi-disaster that was season three. but i really wish rt hadn't been so stubborn in believing that his show was ending! i mentioned shows not knowing their future when they film the finale, but rt had lots of notice that there may not be another season. and he even said he was going to make the ep like it wasn't ending. which he did. but i believe he did all that kane stuff and refering back to past seasons because he knew it was ending.

grey's...i don't know. they've really messed this up. i too would love to see callie in la with addison. mostly cause she too good for george and all them. alex running back to the hospital for rebecca was pretty much the only thing i liked about this ep. the storyline finally gave alex some heart and made him almost human. this show has always been my entertainment show. i really don't care what happens and i watch for the fun of it.

Yeah, that might be it. I'm glad they tried to give it some form of closure in case it didn't get picked out, unlike Veronica Mars, which is so frustrating. The Kane stuff and all the references to previous seasons were nice though.

I guess House is getting a little formulaic. They tried a few times this season to stray away from that, and those attempts weren't half bad. But I enjoy House for the characters. Adore Wilson and Chase. Even though House is getting more annoying, well, he's still House. It's still House.

Lost. It was nuts. Really, it's so much better than last season. I got the feeling that only Kate and Jack got off too. But Kate said something about someone waiting for her at home, I just thought Sawyer, even though I also thought Sawyer was the one in the coffin.

Yeah, I'm watching Grey's just because. Mostly for Alex. I heard Elizabeth Reaser won't be returning next season though. Poor Alex.

SN: loved it. all of it. they didn't have to kill Sam, they didn't have to kill the YED. but they did cause Kripke said so - he's the creator after all. ;)

Lost: James Lesure! thank you! all i kept coming up with was "Mike," and going "no, that's his character on LV. i was spoiled, missed the first 20 minutes, but loved it anyway!

glad to see you back, btw. :D

Hee, yeah. I bet Kripke has something big cooking up in that crazy brain of his. Trust Kripke.

Yay Mike! I miss Las Vegas already. Stupid NBC for ordering such a short season.

Glad to be back. ;)

LV will be back! woot!

(and i'm writing a SN/LV xover... with a rather... interesting pairing. i mean, the paring is totally cool, but when you put it on paper, most people would be like "O.o Trys is writing that?" *evil giggle*)

ok, i'm done now....

I was surprised more people didn't die in Heroes. I liked it and the ending.

Lost: the ending shocked me, and I did not see it coming. Poor Charlie.

Yeah, I was really expecting lots of bodies. But I'm glad no one got the cut. The cast work really well together. Great chemistry.

I'm gonna miss Charlie. And poor Claire. She's gonna be so upset.

Aha, I watch LOST finale and during the first seconds I understood it was a FF whitout being spoiled :P

I liked VM's finale too, and I'm glad it didn't end with an atomic cliff, 'cause who cares about the Sheriff's elections ? I don't, and I hope Vinnie won. The only good thing in the final-final (or the episode 20) was Logan and his "Yeah, Someday". I'm note a huge LoVe fan or a Logan fan or smthing else, but this was PERFECT.

I was disappointed too about the Heroes' and GA's final. I will watch and love Private Practice, but Grey's Anatomy won't be as popular as it was now that Addison left.

Hum, sorry if i made grammatical mistakes, i'm just a french (yes, i keep saying that) and I only have 14,5/20 at my last English Test :/ (yes, i talk too much about things that people don't even care).

Oh you smart cookie. =P

I really wanted some LoVe ending. But I guess the potential of it was good enough. At least it wasn't a Piz/V riding-off-into-the-sunset ending. I would have been so pissed.

Yeah, I still want Addison to interact with the SGH people. But I hope at least there would be crossovers.

Hee, it's okay. ;)

On GA: I think Callie and Alex should follow Addison, their more tied to her than the other characters, and I could believe he turned her DOWN when she finally wanted to be with him. I guess thats just how ti goes though.

On Smallville: I don't think Lana is dead either, she's the only reason I watch the show anyway, though these days. LOL Chloe's power doesn't seem to be cool at all. Like a sacrifice kind of power.
