Supernatural 2.18 - Hollywood Babylon
1. Horror movie. Duh.
2. "Now to the right here is Stars Hollow. It's the setting for the television series Gilmore Girls." *jerks up* "And if we're lucky we might even catch one of the show's stars." *looks extremely uncomfortable and jumps off" OMG SAM WINCHESTER IS ACTUALLY JARED PADALECKI, 'cos, you know, when Sam said he was going to college, he was really going to LA to act in Gilmore Girls. Now he's all afraid of running into Alexis Bledel or Lauren Graham and having to explain why his name is Sam. 'Cos, you know. Yeah. Totally. Yeah.
3. "Well, Matt Damon just picked up a broom and started sweeping."
4. "It's practically Canadian."
5. "Like the Poltergeist?" [link: Poltergeist deaths]
6. "I'm just a fan of her work. It's very good." Dean. Fanboy.
7. Dean: *chows away on food* In reality, Jared: *piles 3 lunch packs on his big hands*
8. OMG, Sam is totally distracted by Dean's chewing. Hee.
9. "I loved you in Boogeyman." "Oh God, another terrible script." OH KRIPKE. (For those who arestupid not in the know, Boogeyman was written by Kripke.)
10. "I take polaroids of all the crew." JENSEN DOES THAT! Right? I mean he loves his camera.
11. Of course spirits are afraid of salt!
12. Dean being all PA-ish. Sam looking lost.
13. "It's like 3 Men and a Baby all over again." Oh God. That freaked me out so much as a kid. [link: boy at the window]
14. Yay grave-digging! "Hey, we gotta go check out Johnny Ramone's grave when we're done here." The Ramones!
15. OMG HAHAHAHAHA TRAILER. "From the producers of Cornfield Massacre, Monster Truck." *falls over laughing*
16. Shaking trailer van. Dean looking smug. Sam lookingjealous bitchy. Dean and Sam walking into the sunset. Yes, I love this town too.
OH GOD. This episode rocks like a rockin' thing. It was just so stupidly ridiculously hilarious. So many in-jokes. So many pop culture references. I'm pretty sure I missed a few. I bet this whole thing was such a guilty pleasure for the crew. Kripke definitely sounded like he had fun. He should have appeared in a cameo. Oh hell, he should have played the producer or McG. Or Walter! Heh!
Although, Jared just pretty much walks around all day looking bored and confused and bitchy while his big brother becomes "one hell of a PA". Not that I don't love his lost-and-confused-and-bitchy look. It's very pretty on him. I guess Sam is still hurting. He hardly smiles in the entire episode, perhaps only at the Matt Damon quip. And some part of me thinks Dean is deliberately exaggerating his actions and coming up with the dumbest shit just to make him smile. I do like them playing their individual roles again, Dean swinging his shotgun while Sam runs off to try to talk to the poor misunderstood asshole. You know, Sam being Sam. Although Dean did a very good job charming the way out into the truth out of that Tara girl, and into her pants, for that matter.
And I'm sure all those light-hearted stuff is just to lure us into a false state of comfort and then Kripke is going to kill us with the major angst in the finale. Actually, what I find unsatisfactory (almost unsettling) about this season is the way the episodes bounce so easily from angst to humor. Remember Born Under A Bad Sign? Sam being possessed by a demon? Dean being beaten the crap out of? And then next episode? Slow-dancing aliens! Wrestling Winchesters! And now, from Heart, Sam having to shoot someone he care about? Dean hurting over that he might have to do it one day? And then? Take a vacation! Fanboy! And get lucky with the female lead! Okay, that was all Dean. At least Sam was still hurting, or else there would have been no continuity at all. I wonder why Kripke always feel the need to place hilariously fun episodes after the especially hurtful ones.
But if we really want to look into it and find an explanation, well, Sam said his way of dealing was to work; Maybe having fun and fooling around is Dean's way of dealing. Lighten everything up, forget the bad stuff for a moment, live a little, take a vacation! That makes a little sense, doesn't it? And more role reversal, remember in Shadows, when Dean was all about the family business, while Sam just wanted to sleep for days and go back to school. I think in terms of character development, it's all coming up very nicely. OH SEASON FINALE.

Itake polaroids of all the crew." JENSEN DOES THAT! Right? I mean he loves his camera. Really, I didn't know that. How sweet! :)
Read about those stories about Poltergeist and Three Men and Baby really freaked me out! 0_o
(no subject)
Yeah, I didn't really followed the Poltergeist stuff, but as a kid, I remembered people pointing out the boy in Three Men to me and I was so scared for the longest time. =P

Aww, fanboy!Dean was so cute.
The trailer just KILLED, OMG. *laughs* "Monster Truck!" This show sure knows how to make fun of itself, hee.
There's going to be so much angst in the final episodes, I'm sure. Kripke's going to make us cry again, meep!

That trailer was plain cheese. So much ♥. Heh.
I'm gonna stock up on Kleenex. It's absolutely essential. ;)

I almost feel like they are setting us up for the pain. I mean, they want to keep a good balance and it's kinda tricky to do that, but I think with Hell House last year they kinda set the standard of how easily it could be done. But even as I watch these lighter episodes I do have that nagging feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop.
(no subject)
Hell House was great, but honestly, Tall Tales bordered on silly, and this? This was just plain rubbish. AND I LOVE IT. Meh, I'm a senseless SPN fangirl. Although Hell House will remain one of my favorite episodes. And yes, this is completely out of point and I have no idea what I was trying to say. (I'm still hyper from all the rubbishing.)
Ah, yes, season finale. Shoe-dropping. *sighs* It's gonna drop.

I love Dean in this episode. Not that I don't always.
(no subject)
I think it's Heathen. But anyhow, yeah, that part was hilarious, especially how he got distracted by something else almost immediately. Heh.
YAY DEAN! ♥
(no subject)
Yeah I thought this episode was gonna be as cheesy cheesy as the previews looked.lmfao.
(no subject)
I bet he's all,
"Well we're gonna kill 'em all dead soon so let's give them a little something now because it's the last chance they'll have to smile."
*nods*
But right now I can't care, I'm still laughing so hard :)

A genius, but evil.

Oh man, they sure know how to poke fun at themselves :DD
I also liked how the producers railed behind the others's back, hehe.
