I like this episode. It's scary and angsty. Granted it's not the brotherly angst, but it's still good angst. Not that angst is good, but well, you know. Well played-out angst. Tricia Helfer was good.
And the issue in Bloodlust is once again brought up here. While I was rewatching, I realize you could actually sense that Dean didn't really like Molly. (Remember Dean loves women. And Sam.) He made plenty of snide comments, disregarded her, and seemed to be careless about her well-being. After the scene where Greeley grabbed her and Dean shoots him in the face, Sam was the one who went to get her and asked if she was alright while Dean stared at where Greeley disappeared to. Turns out Dean just doesn't like ghosts, gorgeous lady ones or otherwise.
It's interesting to note that Sam is the one completely receptive to the "dark side". Granted he's more attracted to the shades of grey, but he's the one slanted to become evil, gotta be a little careful there. Shades of grey does include the darker shades. Not that I don't agree with that sensitive side of him. I actually adore that sensitive side. Jared's sad little eyes got to me so many times in this episode. Problem is, his sympathetic nature might be his Achilles' heel.
I guess at that point, it's up to Dean's hardened soul and practical head to bring him around.
Gosh, I had missed Supernatural. Thankfully there's another new episode next week!
Music from the episode:
The Animals - House of the Rising Sun
Did I mention this song was used in a weird fruit juice commercial here, so I now find this song funny and creepy at the same time.
