I FINISHED TWILIGHT. I finished the last half of the book in one sitting last night. I just sat there for 4 hours straight and read.

EDWARD CULLEN!!!!!! ♥

»
“Do I dazzle you?”
“Frequently.”

»
“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.”
“What a stupid lamb.”
“What a sick, masochistic lion.”

»
“So what you’re saying is, I’m your brand of heroine?”
“Yes, you’re exactly my brand of heroine.”

»
“I love you.”
“You are my life now.”

I feel like such a young teenage fangirl. Honestly, I couldn't stop giggling at various parts of the book. Reading the book in public isn't good (I was on the train, and I was at the middle part of the book), I am sure I had this silly grin plastered on my face the whole time.

I went to PageOne at Vivocity to get New Moon yesterday, but it was SOLD OUT. I'm heading out to Times today to find it, I hope they still it, I saw copies while I was buying Twilight. If not, I'm going to all the bookstores on this island until I find one.

I'm still baffled though. This book was published a long time ago, yet it's only now that I see it all over my flist and on the bestseller's shelf. And someone mentioned something about the Twilight fandom explosion, so, what happened? Word of mouth finally working? Or is it I wasn't paying attention before?

And speaking of flist influence, if you, on my flist, haven't read this book yet, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? Honestly, you don't have to been a 14 year old to enjoy this. This book is epic.
Mood:: 'hyper' hyper
Music:: the weepies; somebody loved

EDWARD CULLEN!!!!

I know what you mean about feeling like a 14 year old fangirl when reading the book - cause I totally do as well. I mean I was giggling and all giddy like it was a backstreet boys concert in 1999 or something.

I really don't know how/why the fandom is suddenly blowing up, I read the book probably about two weeks ago because I had seen a few people on the flist talk about it and I thought I'd give it a try, but now like HALF of my flist has or is reading it. It's crazy.

Guh. These 2 books do silly things to my emotions. Heh.

Yeah, it's like all of a sudden I'm seeing it everywhere. I just saw it mentioned in an OT thread in FNL fanforum. It's funny.

As someone who works in books, I haven't really seen it be that big of a deal. I'm sure it's a good book (haven't read it, bought it for a friend as a gift, was going to borrow it, and now probably won't for a while because I don't like hype - sue me). Sure, we sell a few. But I think the fandom explosion just happened recently because of word of mouth.

But I'm glad you liked it. =) Now I can use it as a selling strategy.

I agree about the hype thing, but that only applies to my music. I listen to a lot of music and I love those wonderful indie bands, They're like well-kept secrets, but once a band hits mainstream, I usually lose my interest in them, like Snow Patrol.

But since I'm not a very active reader, I don't have time to find those quiet gems out there, so I just have to trust the hype. And I'm glad I did for this one. =)

So i just did a little research into this book that you speak so highly of and it sounds really interesting. I've always been one for a good vampire novel. I think i may have to drag my butt to the closest Chapter's store tomorrow and pick it up.
Thanks for the suggestion!

LOL. Yeah I know, Twilight is only the second book I've read this year. =P

That's still not bad.

I think with as slow as I read, it takes me to long to get me through 3 chapters. That Sometimes I feel like I can't keep sitting down to read the book.lol

Like it's hard to get in routine of sitting down and reading a book.lol
But I can usually do it for Harry Potter.lmfao.

yeah: EDWARD CULLEN!!! I'm going to re-read it!

and I think it is word of mouth that has caused the most recent explosion.

I find the fan explosion puzzling as well, but it has already worked on me. I have inquired with some of my bookish friends if they have read it, and talked of the lj buzz particularly. At any rate I ordered my copy off Amazon just yesterday for it to be delivered by the end of the month with another book that doesn't release until April 24th. I'm thinking this might just be my book that comes with me on my vacay this year, even though I have at least half a dozen other books I either bought or have borrowed I should be reading first. My intrique is most obviously past peaked. *hugs*

The flist does wonders at reccomendations, yes? As soon as I'm done exams, I'm heading out to my local bookstore to pick up both books. I can't wait!

I still need to read these books! I don't know why I haven't yet. I have both of them. Twilight is even the advanced reader's copy I have had forever. It's definitely on my to-do list.

If you're looking for more Twilight icons, [livejournal.com profile] papered makes a bunch of pretty ones over at [livejournal.com profile] idylled. That and Supernatural are the main things posted over there. : )

You must read it! =)

And thanks for the link! SPN and Twilight icons are taking over my icon space. =P
