WTF JUST HAPPENED?

Okay. Here we go.

Veronica Mars 3.14 - Mars, Bars

1. Veronica in jail was funny and very entertaining.  Damn, she's cool. We should put her behind bars more often. Just saying.
2. And nice to see Vinny again.
3. So who planted the bug?
4. LoVe interaction was weird. The whole "we're adults" thing was kinda flippant and undermines their 'epic' relationship for the past 2 years. I don't like them being all friendly. I'd rather they bitch at each other.
5. Dude. Logan totally memorized the entire Karma Sutra.
6. Bronson/Mac is cute. Please don't let Bronson be some psycho guy again.
7. Logan/Parker? Meh. Don't ship 'em, don't hate 'em. Might change though.
8. ♥ Cliff.
9. I saw a lot of wtf-reaction posts on my flist, and I honestly thought Keith was gonna get shot in the house, but I guess not. Thankfully not.
10. Yeah, the final WTF. Lamb doing stupid things, getting himself beaten. Him shooting the mirror was all kinds of funny. BUT DUDE, ROB THOMAS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO KILL HIM OFF. JUST PUT HIM IN A COMA OR SOMETHING. Damnit, I like Lamb. He's the only main guy out there who doesn't think much of Veronica Mars, and he was comic relief, and he was, in some ways, the antagonist to Keith. I know Rob Thomas wants Keith to step in as sheriff again, but come on. I don't really like Keith to step in permanently as the sheriff either. For the longest time, this show has portrayed the authorities as incompetent, and Keith and Veronica have always been the Mars Investigations. It just feels strange now.

You know what I think? This show has diverted so much from its first season. Someone once commented that Season 1 of Veronica Mars was the anti-soap, putting down the so-called cool, popular, pretty kids that so many other shows put on a pedestal, emphasizing on the loners, the unpopular. Veronica being ostracized by her school mates, Keith being kicked off his sheriff post. Of course once Lilly's case was solved, things should change, but all of a sudden Veronica was a celebrity, hanging out with the high and mighty, juggling two of the hottest, cutest guys in school. It really hit me this season when that guy who works in the hotel told her she wouldn't ever recognize him, and it was true. It wasn't like the old Veronica. And the way this season has been, the LoVe situation, the cheating, someone tell me that isn't soap-y at all. Not to mention those cheesy things the CW likes to call promos. Remember that completely misleading one about Veronica being pregnant? Damnit! If I wanted to see pregnancy scares and sleeping around with people you shouldn't, I'd watch One Tree Hill (which I do, but that's not the point).

Honestly, this episode wasn't bad. The comic and the suspense were all in the right places, and I enjoyed it quite a bit (except for Lamb dying) . But it's just not the old Veronica Mars I love so much.

Just my opinion, yo. I still love Veronica Mars. Just in a different way.

But why kill Lamb? =(

YEAH. I know, there's no one to annoy them now ...oh there's still Vinny!

This show has diverted so much from its first season.

don't alot of shows? :( yup, this season has been messy, the mystery arcs too.

LOL. I'm glad Vinny showed up in the episode. Weevil, Wallace, Logan, Lamb(!), Mac, they were all there, so I'm happy. Only one missing was Piz.

*sighs* It just wasn't what it used to be.

I didn't realize how upset I would be about loosing Lamb until it happened and then I was like 'Oh NOES!!!'.I'm still trying to make sense of everything in my noggin', but I generally agree with you on most of the episode.

I must say that as angry as I've been at Veronica lately, it was refreshing to see Logan just being able to be himself with someone even as a friend. Plus I read a ficlet a friend of mine wrote a few weeks ago that got the Logan/Parker thing in my mind, so I might could be swayed that way.

Anyway, I'm babbly, but loved your review and feel pretty much the same across the board. Especially about those terrible frakkin' promo's!

Me too! I guess I never thought he would die, and such a silly way and killed by such a silly person. What the hell was going on anyway? Why did that whats-his-name go all crazy on Lamb? Nuts.

True, it's nice to see Logan happy.

Those promos are just ridiculous! Especially where they cut out the 'not' from Veronica's "I'm not pregnant." speech. That was just plain ridiculous.

It was a good episode but seriously, what´s the point of killing Lamb off now??? Just whyyyyyy! *cries*

Exactly! Stupid. They killed him off for fun. =(

This show jumped the shark long ago. Killing off Lamb was hte last straw. Goodbye Lamb, I'll miss you. :(

I've learnt not to expect too much from this show, but this, killing Lamb off, it's just ridiculous. Argh.

Well it would seem that VM is all kinds of ridiculous now. It's kind of sad. :(

I guess I am just sad, because the Show used to be AWESOME. Emphasis on used to be because it has been going downhill. I miss the old, badass Logan, and the old, snarky Veronica.

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 06:52pm on 21/02/2007
Exactly. I don't want Logan to be friends with Veronica. I want snark and badass-ness. =(

So many people are upset, the whole fandom seems to want to kill Rob, now more than ever. I didn't see it coming, it was a big shock. I knew something bad had happened but I figured it had to do with the relationships (like, a Piz/Veronica hook-up or something). This is even worse. I don't see where the show will go if Keith gets to be sheriff... Really, this changes everything.

I didn't see it coming too! I've read spoilers, but this one I really had no idea. I think the entire fandom was taken by surprised.

It's only gonna get worse. =(

Ahh, i'm not all that emo about this, though i did really like Lamb and this is frustrating *sighs*
and i totally agree with you on how the show has changed since the first season..i gotta admit, when i first heard about Veronica Mars, i thought i woudln't like her, but she was great in the first season, and actually after that she started to become a leading character being able to get on my nerves sometimes, i might have even dedicated one whole post just for that :) She became much more selfish if not anything else. i know she has trust issues after what happened in the past and all but she's usually taking it out on the wrong people, and her reasoning for things has defiitely gotten worse..i could go on with this, but i don't want to take much space here :) i guess i still have leftover anger for Veronica after all..

I completely agree with you. Veronica has changed so much. I ranted about her being such a bitch in an earlier post, but I think she's not too bad in these few episodes. Early season 3 was an utter nightmare. *sighs*

they used swimmers? cool! that's one of my favorite songs. what scene was it?

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 06:20pm on 21/02/2007
The Mac/Bronson bed scene. I took so long listening to the song and trying to remember who sang it I had to rewind back to hear what they were saying. Heh. Awesome song.

Lamb is dead. :( I think Veronica was a little saddened about it too.

Yeah I was like Logan & Parker? Eeehhh

I agree Mac & bronson are kind of cute together.

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 09:56am on 22/02/2007
Yeah, I guess it must be quite a shock.

I'm not really sure about Logan/Parker, but I guess we'll see.

posted by [identity profile] alwaysavingme.livejournal.com at 03:29pm on 22/02/2007
Yeah we'll just see what happens. I like Logan & Veronica together. So it's weird when they kind of put Parker with Logan.

I completely completely agree with your number 10. Why did they have to kill Lamb? When he first got hit I thought, for a second, he might die. But then I just decided he wasn't going to, so it was a big surprise. I liked Lamb, too! Waaaa?!

Not to mention those cheesy things the CW likes to call promos. Remember that completely misleading one about Veronica being pregnant?
Dude! I really thought it was true. Stupid CW.

I never thought of him dying. It just seems so meaningless. He didn't have to die! I just hope there's some other reason to it. =(

1. i didnt like parker + logan, EW. idk why cause they were kind of cute.
2. i thought it was cute logan came to visit veronica, but i didnt like their interaction.
3. i loved that everyone was in this episode. FINALLY we're back to the way things should be.
4. except that SHERRIFF LAMB DIED!!! that made me angry. i loved to hate him.
5. mac + bronson are beyond adorible.
6. haha, one tree hill really is like that. i love one tree hill, but i love veronica mars because its not soap opery like one tree hill which it was getting like for awhile. you know?

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 11:02am on 22/02/2007
I'm still can't really believe they killed Lamb off. It was completely meaningless. =(

Yeah, I know. I like OTH and VM for different reasons, but now VM is getting rather soap-y.

I don't even watch this show, but I'm guessing there was a death?

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 11:14am on 22/02/2007
Yeah, one of the fans' favorites was suddenly killed off, in a rather silly manner, I might add. *sighs*

Oh no. I hate that.

I really hope the show gets back to how it was soon, because from the looks of it the ratings are plummeting even further.. next stop, cancellation? I hate to say it but I think that may be where we're heading. :/

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 11:25am on 22/02/2007
Yeah, I hate to agree with you, but I do. Hopefully things will pick up at the end.

you just summed up my feelings EXACTLY. Like everything in there is totally how I feel, and I'm too lazy to type it all up again, so I may just refer people to this post. Plus, you said it way more eloquently then I could have, so thanks for getting my words out. :)

Thanks. It's kinda sad. I miss the good ol' times.

Yeah I totally agree with you. Vm is different now from how it used to be and its definitely more soapy.

Oh I got spoilt for Lamb's death but I still find it sad/annoying. I dont get why RT did that. It just seems like a plot device to me kinda like Meg's death in s2. I understand why people are going all crazy over it. Im not like the biggest Lamb fan but I kinda liked him and he was one of THE VM characthers.

Haha I dont know what I feel bout Logan/Parker yet...

Oh I dont really like keith being sheriff either but im not like totally bothered by it like some people.

i guess overall I thougth that the episode was ok but I didnt think it was that great. I still like the show because I accept that it's different from what it once was and it cant ever be that again.

posted by [identity profile] somersaulter.livejournal.com at 01:37pm on 22/02/2007
Getting spoilt for the death sucks. But yeah, I don't get why RT did it either. It's kinda meaningless. It's like he's copying all those big shows which kill random characters off to up the suspense, but VM is not that kind of a show. =(

It just feels strange seeing Keith become sheriff again. I don't know. It's just weird.
