*bounces and wails at the same time*
1. Okay, that's not Summer Glau. I was looking out for her name for the guest stars, but she wasn't there. *muses*
2. "Stuck with those people, making awkward small talk until you arrive? No thanks." I love how Dean didn't want to leave Sam. Heh.
3. Emo! Sam. Papa Winchester's tags. *sighs* That was sweet.
4. Dean staring at that 'Loving Father' headstone while avoiding Mary's grave.
5. That talking over the Metallicar. Again. *fangirlish giggles*
6. I love how they can have a conversation with each other while technically talking to Angela's father. "It's perfectly normal, Dr. Mason." *stares pointedly at Dean*
7. "You wanna take another swing? Go ahead, it'll make you feel better." "Dean, where are you going?" The way Jared delivered those lines? Heartbreaking. And Dean's reply of "I'm gonna get a drink. Alone." Eek.
8. Sam! PORN! LESBIAN PORN! And Dean catching him in the act! Did you see the way Sam threw the remote control over his shoulders? Real smooth. "...awkward." And Dean's expression when he saw the porn advertisement on top of the TV set? Golden.
9. My boys getting dirty again. *clears throat* Grave-digging does that to people.
10. Whoa. Zombie. Talk about necrophilia.
11. "What's dead should stay dead!"
12. "I don't scare easy, but man, you're scaring the crap out of me!" *nods* "We've already lost Dad. We lost Mom. I lost Jessica. And I gonna lose you too?" *whimpers and hugs Sammy*
13. "We've got a frigging zombie running around, we need to figure out how to kill it." "Our lives are weird, man." I love my boys.
14. "It's your grief counselors. We've come to hug." "I guess this is where he keeps his porn." Implying something, Dean? *giggles wildly* And before this, "It takes two to have...hardcore sex." One more porn joke and I'm gonna die.
15. "When someone's gone, they should stay gone." Notice any repetition?
16. Neil is a little endearing, with his quiet "No. No."
17. Sammy! gun!pants!porn.
18. Dean! The slide! Into the grave! *SQUEE*
19. "What's dead should stay dead." Again? Hm.
20. "I was dead. I should stay dead." Oh God. And he finally cried in front of Sam. That was so heartbreaking. Oh Dean.
First of all, can I just say how heartbreakingly beautiful Jensen/Dean is in this episode? I know. He has always looked that way, but somehow, he's just so pretty in here. It started way in the beginning of the episode, where he was looking at the tree, and "Gosh, he's so gorgeous" just randomly popped up in my head. And then when Sam and Dean were arguing in the streets. The green in Jensen's eyes, and the green in the background. Whoa. And of course, the last scene. Those teary eyes. Gorgeous. Heartbreakingly gorgeous.
So Dean knows. About his father's sacrifice. How do you deal with something like this? Knowing someone you love died because of you, for you? You can't really blame him for being that messed up, can you? We saw it in Faith, where he was so tore up about someone else dying because of him, someone he didn't even know. Now he knows his father is dead to save him. Imagine his feelings about that one. And I hate how he always think he's not worth it. In that same episode, when the Reaper came for him, he didn't even try to run. He would gladly give up his life so Layla could live, because he felt Layla deserved a life more than he did. Now, he keeps saying he should have stayed dead. All the "what's dead should stay dead" lines. That just tears me up inside. He really shouldn't be comparing himself with that lifeless, violent, malicious zombie! Dean, you're a living, sometimes-a-little-violent,mostly kind human being with real tortured and bottled up emotions! But really, we all know he has a good heart. Still, no one can judge who lives and who dies. Although. technically, yes, Dean was supposed to leave with Tessa. He was supposed to be dead. (Out of point, but anyone saw Veronica Mars this week? I had a giggle fit and tons of crossover plot bunnies in my head when I saw Lindsay McKeon (Tessa) guest starring. Dean could drop by Neptune and be all like "Have I seen you somewhere before?". Or maybe Trish, Lindsay's character in VM, is a reaper and has come to take Veronica, and Dean has to stop her! Okay. Sorry. Heh.)
And more about that last scene. Sam didn't even know what to say to that. *sighs* But did he know about the trade? Maybe he thought about it. Maybe he just pushed that thought away because he couldn't possibly blame his brother for it? I can't seem to fathom him. If he knows about the trade, he should feel something. Maybe he's secretly a little glad that his father did it? So that Dean could live? Maybe he secretly thinks Dean deserves to live more than their father? Nah, that's evil. But if he could choose who gets to live, Dean or John...
Another issue. New canon. They mentioned an uncle whom they never really knew. Strange. Earlier this week, I just watched a show and there was this adorable grandmother and I was just thinking if Sam and Dean's grandparents are still alive. I would expect Mary's family to try to see the kids after Mary died, but we know John disappeared with them. So Kripke is bringing in so-called "family" (other hunters) to help the boys. Would we ever see Sam and Dean's real family? The uncle? I would really like to see that, them interacting with their real normal family. But I think Dean will end up hitting their uncle right in the face, because I can totally see said uncle go on and on about how John is a bad father and how he shouldn't have taken the kids away.
Well, in conclusion. Yes, I have a conclusion. I love how Kripke & Co. are tying in the Monster-of-the-Week with the Winchesters' state of mind. Things are starting to get a little personal, aren't they. Well, for 2.02, nothing much in connection, maybe except for Sammy's fear of clowns. But in 2.03, we see the parallels, or rather, the non-parallels between Gordon and Dean. The what-might-have-been. And here in 2.04, Dean seeing himself as someone who should be dead, like Angela. And for the next episode, you should already know, it's personal, to Sam.
Alright. This post is filled with crazy plot bunnies. I apologize. In the form of photos. Also to illustrate my first point of how gorgeous Jensen is. Caps are by

I swear. Kripke is trying to kill SPN fans. Week after week of angst. I can't take it anymore.
Supernatural 2.04 - Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things
