I'm supposed to stay away from all spoilers, but here I am posting one again.

Sides for 2.09 are up. I just read them. Reaction: OMG OMG OMG

You know it'll be good when reading sides make you cry. *sniffles*

2.09 - Croatoan

Basically, Sam gets accidentally infected by a demonic virus (you know it's not good when you get sulphur in your blood) that is spreading across this town. This virus causes people to go crazy and aggressive, attacking others in the most brutal manners, plus, the infected gains superhuman strength too. Not good.

So this other guy in the town wanted to kill Sam before the infection takes over him completely, but...
DEAN: NOBODY is going to shoot my brother.
...
SAM: Dean, they're right. I'm infected. Give me the gun, I'll do it myself.
DEAN: No. No. There's time.
...
DEAN (to this-other-guy): I'm only gonna say this once. You move on him, you'll be dead before you hit the floor. Trust me.

And later,
DEAN (to the remaining people in the room): You all get the hell out, that's what. Take my car.
...
SAM: Dean, no -- go with them. It's your only chance.
DEAN: Not getting rid of me that easy...

And the last line in the sides killed me.

Dean barricades it(the door) behind her(just another woman who was there). Then...turns to face his brother. Won't look at him. Odd-awkward moment...


*WAILS*

You should have seen my reaction when I first saw this. I went nuts. I LOVE DEAN! Him not letting anyone shoot Sam (expected), staying for Sam (expected), giving away the Impala (!!). And Sam, wanting to do it himself. ANGST all over. I wonder how the hell they're gonna get out of this one. Oh Sammy, you're not gonna try to kill your brother again, are you.

So in 2.01, Sam won't give up on Dean. Now 8 episodes later, we see Dean return the favor. This has been discussed so many times before, butI love how Kripke and his gang are constantly working on the brother dynamics because it is what keeps us coming back. It's what keeps the show so true to the heart and so believable and so real. The folklores and stuff are interesting, but they're not real (not really), and frankly, most of them are overdone. The brothers are definitely what make it all work so well. And it's what fuel my obsession so so bad. This is me being at my most obsessive. Ever.
