The title for the final Harry Potter book is finally out.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

No, I have no idea what it means. But it sure sounds like a lot of people are going to die. Is Harry going to bite the dust? Ron? Ginny? Draco? Hermione? Argh...

Sadly, no publication date has been set. But a title surely means it will be released next year, right?

Who else is excited?

I'm looking forward to seeing who is going to die. But I think no matter who she kills there's gonna be a huge fan backlash.

Plus, I hate how a lot of the world thinks that that Harry Potter is just for children. Yes, many children read it, but teenagers and adults shouldn't be criticized for reading a "children's book". There is plenty of dark subject matter in it, so hopefully the next book will limit some of those misconceptions.

But yay! That's an exciting title.

i don't really feel spoiled knowing the title, i just hope the book comes out soon :) i didn't like the title though, don't know why..but yeah, i'm sure she's gonna kill a hell lot of people, this is the last book so some people are gonna be gone forever, i don't care how cheesy or ordinary it sounds but i don't want any of the trio to die, and i want to read rn and hermione to hook up :)

Yeah, but hallows could mean something holy. Not sure how holy and death can come together. But we all know she's gonna kill some people. It's her style. Question is who? =/

True. There're lots of hardcore fans for each and every characters. Not everyone is gonna be happy.

I think it has gone beyond being a children's book. It's practically a worldwide phenomenon, for both children and adults. And the series has definitely taken a darker route.

It sounds really sinister and bears a really bad omen to all, so yeah, I can understand why you don't like it. I don't want the trio, or Ginny to die, but given all the JKR's interviews, I'm a little fearful for them. =(

I think it has something to do with Godric's hollow, where harry's parents lived/died.

I was gushing about this too...I for one am nervous as to who she's gonna bump off. I mean if lots of other authors also told her not kill off Harry...I'm really worried for Harry. :(
I have this sneaky feeling it will be one of those endings where the hero also has to sacrifice himself. :( *sniff* I don't want any of the trio to get bumped off...and none of the Weasly's...gosh I dunno who she's gonna kill. :o

I was thinking Gordric's Hollow too, but it's the Deathly Hallows, not hollows. I think it could mean All Hallow's Eve, since James and Lily were killed on Halloween.

What about that whole thing with the Horcruxes. I heard a theory once that Harry's scar was a Horcrux for Voldermort? At first I had thought only inanimate objects like those Hufflepuff, Slytherin objects could be used as Horcruxes. But then Dumbledore mentioned Nagini and I was worried...

Either way there's a tie in. Hero risks his life to save everyone...he kills Voldermort but it also costs him is life. :( *cries*
