The title for the final Harry Potter book is finally out.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

No, I have no idea what it means. But it sure sounds like a lot of people are going to die. Is Harry going to bite the dust? Ron? Ginny? Draco? Hermione? Argh...

Sadly, no publication date has been set. But a title surely means it will be released next year, right?

Who else is excited?

I'm so exciiiiting ! But, what a creepy title ! A looooot of people are going to die. I think the title is related to the horcruxs ...

That's likely, and yes, sadly, I think a lot of people are kicking the bucket. I just hope we can get a somewhat happy ending.

Yeah, but hallows could mean something holy. Not sure how holy and death can come together. But we all know she's gonna kill some people. It's her style. Question is who? =/

I'm looking forward to seeing who is going to die. But I think no matter who she kills there's gonna be a huge fan backlash.

Plus, I hate how a lot of the world thinks that that Harry Potter is just for children. Yes, many children read it, but teenagers and adults shouldn't be criticized for reading a "children's book". There is plenty of dark subject matter in it, so hopefully the next book will limit some of those misconceptions.

But yay! That's an exciting title.

True. There're lots of hardcore fans for each and every characters. Not everyone is gonna be happy.

I think it has gone beyond being a children's book. It's practically a worldwide phenomenon, for both children and adults. And the series has definitely taken a darker route.

Yay!! I'm so excited to read all the speculation that's going to be coming now. And surely a release day is on it's way...

i don't really feel spoiled knowing the title, i just hope the book comes out soon :) i didn't like the title though, don't know why..but yeah, i'm sure she's gonna kill a hell lot of people, this is the last book so some people are gonna be gone forever, i don't care how cheesy or ordinary it sounds but i don't want any of the trio to die, and i want to read rn and hermione to hook up :)

It sounds really sinister and bears a really bad omen to all, so yeah, I can understand why you don't like it. I don't want the trio, or Ginny to die, but given all the JKR's interviews, I'm a little fearful for them. =(

oh yes, i don't want Ginny to die either, after all i've waited so long for those two :) but yeah, she has a thing for killing people i actually like and don't want to lose, so....
well i hope she goes with the cliches for the ending :)

I think it has something to do with Godric's hollow, where harry's parents lived/died.

I'm sure I've figured out who will be cut off the chopping board if I'm not mistaken.

The book is set to come out July 13, 2007 =].

im SO excited for the last harry potter. i heard at least 2 major characters are going to die. i heard she wanted to kill off harry but that its still up in the air if he dies or not.

I heard that too! I would be so tempted to just flip to the back of the book when I get it to see who dies, but that would spoil it. =/

I was gushing about this too...I for one am nervous as to who she's gonna bump off. I mean if lots of other authors also told her not kill off Harry...I'm really worried for Harry. :(
I have this sneaky feeling it will be one of those endings where the hero also has to sacrifice himself. :( *sniff* I don't want any of the trio to get bumped off...and none of the Weasly's...gosh I dunno who she's gonna kill. :o

The deathly hollows could be just a place right? A scary place...wait is this Godric's Hollow?

I have a feeling Harry dies. Either him or Ron. =(

I was thinking Gordric's Hollow too, but it's the Deathly Hallows, not hollows. I think it could mean All Hallow's Eve, since James and Lily were killed on Halloween.

*covers eyes* I hate to think about it coz I love Harry...and Ron, aww...I don't want anything to happend to the Weasley family. :( Or Hermoine...but I have a feeling she doesn't get bumped.

What about that whole thing with the Horcruxes. I heard a theory once that Harry's scar was a Horcrux for Voldermort? At first I had thought only inanimate objects like those Hufflepuff, Slytherin objects could be used as Horcruxes. But then Dumbledore mentioned Nagini and I was worried...

Either way there's a tie in. Hero risks his life to save everyone...he kills Voldermort but it also costs him is life. :( *cries*
