I don't know why they didn't put in Gambit. But I'm pretty sure they didn't put in Nightcrawler because the actor bitched about the makeup all the time in interviews and everything. In some interview on the DVD when asked about the next movie and if he was going to be in it he said something to the effect (affect?) of "we'll see".
